This photographic print series grew out of long hikes through forests, undertaken with the intention to alter the state of focus by fatigue and careful attention to the reactions of the body.
Often my feet would halt unexpectedly and the gaze would fixate upon a scene that seemed to call for attention. This act became ritualistic—an intuitive search for something undefined, but present.
The landscape, seen as ubiquitous, enduring beyond the fragile brevity of human life also bears traces of intervention—subtle or forceful—where it has been altered, reshaped.
The print series engages with questions of timelessness, death, and the unconscious, approached through moments of stillness.
